Frequently asked questions.
Everything you need to know about NFC, QR codes, digital menus and custom business solutions.
Does TapScanLink work with iPhone and Android?
Yes! Our NFC and QR solutions are designed for iPhone and Android. Tap with an NFC-compatible phone or scan the QR code with your camera. Offering both gives customers a convenient alternative.
Do customers need to download an app?
Normally no. Most modern phones can scan QR codes using their camera, and compatible phones can open NFC links without a special app.
What is the difference between NFC and a QR code?
NFC lets compatible devices open a link when held close to a tag. QR codes open a link when scanned with a camera. Both can lead to the same destination.
Can a Google review card open the review page directly?
Yes. We can connect a card directly to your business’s Google review link, with no extra TapScanLink landing page. The customer chooses whether to leave a review.
Can one card open several links?
Yes. If you want multiple destinations, we can create a branded page with links to your website, social profiles, review pages or other information. For one destination, direct access is often simpler.
Can I change the link later?
It depends on your setup. A fixed link may require reprogramming or replacing the QR code. A TapScanLink-managed link can be updated without changing the printed destination, subject to your service arrangement.
Can you host a restaurant menu?
Yes. A simple option is to host a restaurant-provided PDF menu and connect the NFC/QR product to it. We can also discuss menu design or a custom web-based experience.
Can I update my restaurant menu?
Yes. With a managed menu service, you can send us an updated PDF and we can replace the hosted file while keeping the same customer-facing link. The service terms and update arrangements are agreed for each project.
Can customers order or pay through TapScanLink?
We can connect customers to an existing ordering or payment page where suitable. A full ordering and payment system is not part of our standard offering at this stage.
Can I use my own logo and colours?
Custom branding is available as a project option. The final design, materials, quantities and lead times depend on supplier capabilities and your requirements.
Which businesses can use these products?
Restaurants, cafés, accommodation providers, retailers, salons, gyms, offices, event organisers and many other businesses can use NFC/QR touchpoints.
Do you offer solutions across Australia?
Yes. TapScanLink works with businesses Australia-wide. Availability, delivery and any on-site requirements are confirmed for each project.
Are there ongoing fees?
Some direct-link products may be a one-time setup. Hosted menus, managed links or ongoing content updates may involve recurring service fees. We discuss the arrangement before work begins.
Do NFC and QR codes need internet access?
Opening online content generally requires an internet connection. The physical tag or QR code contains or points to a destination; it does not provide internet access itself.
Can you make a solution that is not listed?
Absolutely. Tell us what you would like customers to access, and we can discuss whether a custom NFC/QR solution is practical.
Still have a question?
Tell us about your idea. We’ll help you explore the right solution.
